To rename a fraction as a decimal:
Divide the numerator by the denominator. 4  3

To rename a mixed number as a decimal:
Separate the mixed number 9  116  9  116 
into a whole number part
and a fraction part.

Rename the fraction part as  116  1 6 1 .0 0  0  0
a decimal.

Add the whole number part 9 0.0 6 2 59.0 6 2 5
and the decimal.

So 9 1
1
