Barrons SAT Subject Test Chemistry, 13th Edition

(Marvins-Underground-K-12) #1

  1. (B) Since the mass of the silver oxide (4.64 g), the mass of the oxygen
released upon heating (0.32 g), and the mass of the silver remaining in the
crucible (4.32 g) can all be calculated, the percent composition of the silver
    oxide can be found. In other words, (0.32 g/4.64 g) × 100% = 6.9% oxygen in
    silver oxide. Similarly, (4.32 g/4.64 g) × 100% = 93.1% silver in silver
    oxide.
