The United States is the world’s largest producer of nuclear power (805
billion kWh in 2017, over 19% of the total electrical output), accounting for
more than 30% of worldwide nuclear generation of electricity. France produces
the highest percentage of its energy from nuclear reactors (78%) compared to
30% for the rest of the European Union.
