PowerLecture DVD with Digital Image Library and JoinIn
ISBN 1439085854
Bring digital images into the classroom with this one-stop lecture- and class-
presentation tool that makes it easy to assemble, edit, and present cus-
tomized lectures for your course using Microsoft® PowerPoint®. Available
on DVD, the Digital Image Library provides high-resolution images (maps,
diagrams, most of the fine-art images from the text, and all of the 300-plus
new bonus images) for lectures, either in an easy-to-use PowerPoint presen-
tation format or in individual file formats compatible with other image-
viewing software. A zoom feature allows you to magnify selected portions of
an image for more detailed display in class, or you can display images side by
side for comparison and contrast. You can easily customize your classroom
presentation by adding your personal visuals to those from the text. The
PowerLecture also includes a Google Earth™ application that enables you to
zoom in on an entire city as well as key monuments and buildings within it.
There are links to specific figures for every chapter. The PowerLecture in-
cludes an Image Transition Guide, an electronic Instructor’s Manual, and a
Test Bank with multiple-choice, matching, short-answer, and essay ques-
tions in ExamView® computerized format. These text-specific Microsoft®
PowerPoint® slides are created for use with JoinIn™ software for classroom
personal-response systems (“clickers”). JoinIn™ is the easiest way to turn
your lecture into a personal, fully interactive experience for your students.
JoinIn™ turns PowerPoint® technology into a powerful audience-response
vehicle enabling you to take attendance, poll students, check student com-
prehension of difficult concepts, and even administer quizzes without col-
lecting papers or grading.
