FIGHTING SCIENTISTS
Fighting Scientists passages sometimes come with figures, but Fighting Scientists utilizes different skills
and thus requires a different basic approach.
Step 1: Preview
Go straight to the questions and identify which theory you’ll need to read in order to answer the question.
For example, if the passage features “Hypothesis 1” and “Hypothesis 2,” then label any question that just
covers the first “1” and any passage that just covers the second “2.” Label questions on both with “1 &
2.” For passages with multiple theories, label the questions as needed.
Step 2: One Side at a Time
Read Hypothesis 1 and do all the questions labeled “1.” Reading and working the questions for one
scientist at a time will give you the firm grasp of each theory you need.
Step 3: The Other Side
Read Hypothesis 2 and do all the questions labeled “2.” On passages with multiple hypotheses, read each
theory one at a time and work its stand-alone questions before moving on to the next theory.
