连/連 lián is used to indicate that a noun phrase is included in the situation described by
the verb phrase. The noun phrase that follows 连/連 lián may be the subject, a ‘time when’
expression, or the object of the verb. 也 yě or 都 dōu typically occurs in the predicate.连/連 lián + subject noun phrase
人人都喜欢吃中国饭。连外国人也喜欢。
人人都喜歡吃中國飯。連外國人也喜歡。
Rén rén dōu xǐhuan chī Zhōngguó fàn. Lián wàiguórén yě xǐhuan.
