感激。Nǐ zài wǒ zuì kùnnán de shíhou bāngzhù wǒ, wǒ shífēn gǎnjī. I’m very grateful to you as
you helped me in my most difficult times.
gǎnjué 感觉 [comp: 感 feel + 觉 be conscious of] V & N feel; feeling, impression ■ 我感觉他 对我们不
大友好。Wǒ gǎnjué tā duì wǒmen bú dà yǒuhǎo. I feel that he is not very friendly to us. ■ 她相信
自己的感觉,常常跟着感觉走。Tā xiāngxìn zìjǐ de gǎnjué, chángcháng gēnzhe gǎnjué zǒu. She
believes her instinct and often follows it.
gǎnkǎi 感慨 V sigh with deep inner feelings (over a revelation, an experience, etc.)
gǎnmào 感冒 V & N catch a cold; cold, flu ■ 突然 变冷,很多人感冒了。Tūrán biàn lěng, hěn duō rén

Having worked together for quite a few years, they have gradually become fond of each other.

gǎn xìngqù 感兴趣 V be interested (in) ■ 我对小 说不感兴趣。Wǒ duì xiǎoshuō bù gǎn xìngqù. I’m
not interested in fiction.

gànbù 干部 N cadre, official (位 wèi)
NOTE: 干部 gànbù is a communist party term, denoting party (or government) officials. It is not commonly
used today. In its stead, 官员 guānyuán is the word for government officials.

见要改期。Gāngcái Wáng xiānsheng lái diànhuà, shuō míngtiān de huìjiàn yào gǎiqī. Mr Wang
called just now, saying that tomorrow’s meeting would be rescheduled. ■ 我刚才看见小明到图 书
馆去,你去那儿一定能找到他。Wǒ gāngcái kànjiàn Xiǎo Míng dào túshūguǎn qù, nǐ qù nàr
yídìng néng zhǎodào tā. I saw Xiao Ming going to the library a short while ago. You’re sure to find
him there.
gānggāng 刚刚 ADV same as 刚 gāng, but more emphatic.
gāng 钢 TRAD 鋼 N steel
gāngbǐ 钢笔 [modif: 钢 steel + 笔 pen] N fountain pen (支 zhī) ■ 现在有各种各样的笔,很少人用钢
笔。Xiànzài yǒu gè-zhǒng-gè-yàng de bǐ, hěn shǎo rén yòng gāngbǐ. Now there are many
varieties of pens. Very few people use fountain pens.
gāngtiě 钢铁 [comp: 钢 steel + 铁 iron] N iron and steel, steel ■ 钢铁制造是基础工业。Gāngtiě
zhìzào shì jīchǔ gōngyè. Steel and iron manufacturing is a basic (or primary) industry.
