useless books on the bookshelf.
yòngchu 用处 [modif: 用 use + 处 place] V use ■ 这个应用程序用处不大，就别买了。Zhè ge
yìngyòng chéngxù yòngchu bú dà, jiù bié mǎi le. This app isn’t of much use. Let’s not buy it.
yònggōng 用功 [v+obj: 用 use + 功 efforts] ADJ hardworking, diligent (student) ■ 她学习非常 用功。
Tā xuéxí fēicháng yònggōng. She studies diligently. ■ 这学期我没有好好学习，下学期要 用功
点。Zhè xuéqī wǒ méiyǒu hǎohǎo xuéxí, xià xuéqī yào yònggōng diǎn. I did not study well this
semester. I will work harder in the next semester.
