4 th EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES ROWING CHAMPIONSHIP
The 4th European Universities Rowing Championship was
hosted in Zagreb, Croatia. The event was organised by the
Croatian University Sports Association, the University of Za-
greb and the Zagreb Rowing Federation from August 28 to
30, 2008. More than 400 participants, 126 crews from 49
universities entered the championship, representing 14 coun-
tries, making it the largest EUC Rowing held to date with
athletes entered to compete in 433 racing seats. The over-
all standard was very high with time-records being broken
in every racing category. The strongest nations were Poland
who sent a strong team of 23 university crews and Croatia
with 16 university crews. Three new countries - Israel, Hun-
gary and Slovenia were all welcomed to the EUSA rowing
family for the first time. Champions became:Men
