2 nd EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES RUGBY 7’s CHAMPIONSHIP

In 2008, the European Universities Rugby 7’s Championship

was organised by the CUS Roma and Italian University Sports

Federation in Rome from July 24 to 27, 2008.

Nine university teams from six European countries partici-

pated in the men’s competition. After a number of quality

matches, the title of the Champions went to the University

of Limoges who won in the finals the University of Wales In-

stitute Cardiff with 31:26. In women’s competition the win-

ner was decided after 3 matches between the University of

Northumbria, Great Britain and University of Lille, France. In

the end, the University of Northumbria won 2:1.
