6 th EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP

Poznań was the host city of the 6th European University

Tennis Championship held from July 26 to August 1, 2009.

10 women and 12 men university teams from 10 European

countries took part in it. The level of competition was very

high and some matches were really spectacular. In women

tournament the Moscow State University of Economics, Sta-

tistics and Informatics was surprisingly beaten in the final by

the team from the Technical University of Ostrava. Also men’s

teams made good impression on the spectators gathered at

the Poznań University Sports Association tennis courts. Espe-

cially exciting was the final match between Rouen University

and Warsaw School of Social Psychology, won by the French

team after a superb tie-break.
