9 th EUROPEAN UNIVERSITIES VOLLEYBALL

CHAMPIONSHIP

The 9th European Universities Volleyball Championship, held

between May 18 and 24, 2009 in Hamburg, Germany and or-

ganised by the ADH, the University of Hamburg and the City

of Hamburg, saw the participation of 19 men and women

universities teams. In the women’s final around 600 specta-

tors enjoyed the match between the University of Economy

Bydgoszcz and the University of Hamburg. The Polish Uni-

versity Champions from Bydgoszcz were stronger and won

3:0. In the men final, the Mordovskiy State University played

against the Russian State University of Physical Education,

Sport and Tourism, the team which was defending the title

of the Champions. After an exciting match, the Mordovskiy

State University managed to get the new title, winning 3:0.
