It is with persistence and hard work that the ideals of Univer-
sity sport grow in the continent and it is with common goal
that African countries and governments are encouraged to
develop and promote sporting activities in Universities.
Africa as a continental body of universities representing all
the countries, have what is known as National University
Sport Associations (NUSA) which represent their respective
universities. The African counties are then placed in 5 zones
depending on their respective location on the continent:
East, West, Southern, Central and North African zone. They
are encouraged to organise various university championships
in various sports. Every two years, FASU also organises the
African University Games called the FASU Games.The current Executive Committee is under the leadership of
Mr. Hassan Chikh from Algeria, who is also the President of
FASU.
