EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY SPORTS ASSOCIATION From foundation on 1999-2009
The first EUSA Newsletter was published as a new regular
means of communication with member federations. Accord-
ing to the decision of the previous General Assembly the
Student Commission was formed. The Student Commission
has identified a number of areas in which it could support
the activities of EUSA: networking, online promotion, sym-
posium and promotion of EUSA events. Also the Technical
Committee increased its number of members as the nomina-
tion of the Technical Delegates for Beach Volleyball, Futsal
and Badminton was done.
At the end of the year, the 4th General Assembly was organ-
ised by the Slovenian University Sports Association in Lju-
bljana, Slovenia. The Assembly chaired by Mr. Leonz Eder
from Switzerland decided to modify the Statutes and in-
crease the number of Executive Committee Members from
9 to 11. The following Executive Committee was elected for
the next two year term:

Mrs. Roos Zwetslot from The Netherlands was re-elected as
the EUSA Auditor, together with Mr. Nick Grivas from Greece
as a new elected Auditor.
During the General Assembly the Seminar “University Sport
and the European Union” was organised for the delegates.
The seminar gave the opportunity to discuss a future in-
volvement of EUSA in the sports policy of the European Un-
ion. A special focus was given to promising funds of the
European Union for University Sports activities.
