Men’s Tournament

3 rd EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY BASKETBALL
CHAMPIONSHIP

The championship moved in 2003 to the home city of the
two time winners in women competition – University of Novi
Sad, Serbia and Montenegro. The third edition of European
University Basketball Championship attracted 19 teams from
13 European countries. The event organised by the University
Sports Federation of Serbia and Montenegro was held in the
Sports Centre Spens. The favourites of the tournament justi-
fied the expectations. The women team of the University of
Novi Sad won the title for the third time in the row, winning
in the finals against the Zaporizhja Institute of State and
Municipal with 79:74. Also, the title of the Champions in
men’s category remained in the host county after the Uni-
versity of Belgrade defeated the University of Zagreb 107:80.
