http://www.ck12.org Chapter 14. The Behavior of Gases
Points to Consider
Dalton’s law is a gas law that deals with mixtures of gases. In a gas mixture, all of the particles are still relatively far
apart, so the different gases in the mixture are assumed to interact with one another only during brief collisions.
- How do you determine the pressure of one particular gas when that gas is part of a mixture of gases?
- In the laboratory, gases are often collected by bubbling the gas into a water-filled container. What adjustment
needs to be made to determine the amount of a gas when it is collected in this way?
