5.6 Mode
You’ll learn how to identify the mode or modes of a data set for both quantitative and qualitative data given different
representations. You’ll also learn to classify distribution of data as being unimodal, bimodal, or multimodal.
You notice in your neighborhood there seems to be a trend with the color the houses are painted. Here are the colors
for the twelve houses on your street: light blue, olive green, olive green, mustard, beige, olive green, dark brown,
light blue, light yellow, light blue, white, and olive green. What is the mode of this set of data?

Before class begins, bring out the blocks that you and your classmates chose from the pail for the concept on mean.
In addition, have the grid paper on display where each student in your class posted his or her number of blocks.
