THREE SPECIAL TRIANGLE TYPES
Pythagorean theorem: If you know any two sides of a right triangle, you can find the third side by
using the Pythagorean theorem:
(leg 1 )^2 + (leg 2 )^2 = (hypotenuse)^2
PYTHAGOREAN THEOREM
For all right triangles:
1. Isosceles: Two equal sides and two equal angles.
Equilateral: Three equal sides and three 60° angles. If the length of one side is s,
then:
2.
3. Right: One right angle. You can use the legs to find the area:
(leg 1 )^2 + (leg 2 )^2 = (hypotenuse)^2
