Is wheat important to the world’s food supply? You bet. For more than 9,000 years,

people all over the world have used wheat as a food source. The main use of

wheat is to make flour for bread, as well as pastries like cakes, pies, and tarts.

Most pasta, such as macaroni, is made from a type of wheat called durum. If you

eat cereal for breakfast, then chances are you are eating a wheat product. Wheat

is also grown as feed for livestock, or farm animals.
