Building a Community

A community is a group of people who care about each other. A community

might include your neighbors, school, sports teams, or clubs. People will often offer

to help others in their communities. You can be useful to each other. You might

decide to walk your neighbor’s dog or go to the store for your grandmother. Your

uncle might watch your cat while your family goes on vacation. A family down the

street might ask you if you want to go to the movies. It is important for people to feel

like part of a community. Always be kind and thoughtful to the people in your

community, even if you do not know their names.
