Paying for the Picture

In the century since the birth of motion pictures, the production of moving

images has taken on many forms and has assumed a role of great signifi cance

for contemporary societies. Today, the creation and use of the moving

image are at the core of an immense range of activities, whether for creative

enrichment, entertainment, news, personal communication, or business
