- Greenwald, Helen M. “Recent Puccini Research.” AM65 (1993): 23–50.
A useful guide to Puccini scholarship, presenting major writings in 10 cate-
gories. Disputes over the importance and value of the operas began as they
were first appearing and have continued into a second century. Greenwald’s
authoritative commentary is not well supported by the bibliographical style of
entry, which gives only initials instead of first names of authors and omits pub-
lishers from imprint data for books.
