Plan A: You Have a Full School Year to Prepare
SEPTEMBER–OCTOBER (check off the activities as you complete them)
__ Determine into which student mode you would place yourself.
__ Carefully read Chapters 1 – 4 of this book.
__ Get on the web and take a look at the AP Central website(s).
__ Skim the Comprehensive Review section (these areas will be part of your yearlong
preparation).
__ Buy a few highlighters.
__ Flip through the entire book. Break the book in. Write in it. Toss it around a little bit ...
highlight it.
__ Get a clear picture of your school’s AP Statistics curriculum.
__ Begin to use the book as a resource to supplement the classroom learning.
__ Read and study Chapter 5 –Overview of Statistics/Basic Vocabulary.
__ Read and study Chapter 6 –One-Variable Data Analysis.
__ Read and study Chapter 7 –Two-Variable Data Analysis.
NOVEMBER
__ Read and study Chapter 8 –Design of a Study: Sampling, Surveys, and Experiments.
__ Review Chapters 5 and 6 .
DECEMBER
__ Read and study Chapter 9 –Probability and Random Variables.
__ Review Chapters 7 and 8 .
JANUARY (20 weeks have elapsed)
__ Read and study Chapter 10 –Binomial Distributions, Geometric Distributions, and Sampling
Distributions.
__ Review Chapters 7 – 9 .
FEBRUARY
__ Read and study Chapter 11 –Confidence Intervals and Introduction to Inference.
__ Review Chapters 8 – 10 .
__ Look over the Diagnostic Exam.
MARCH (30 weeks have elapsed)
__ Read and study Chapter 12 –Inference for Means and Proportions.
__ Read and study Chapter 13 –Inference for Regression.
__ Review Chapters 9 – 11 .
