CHAPTER 3
Take a Diagnostic Exam
IN THIS CHAPTER
Summary: The following diagnostic exam begins with 40 multiple-choice questions. The diagnostic
exam also includes five free-response questions and one investigative task much like those on the actual
exam. All of these test questions have been written to approximate the coverage of material that you will
see on the AP exam but are intentionally somewhat more basic than actual exam questions (which are
more closely approximated by the Practice Exams at the end of the book). Once you are done with the
exam, check your work against the given answers, which also indicate where you can find the
corresponding material in the book. You will also be given a way to convert your score to a rough AP
score.
