SEQUENCE QUESTIONS

Sequence questions test your ability to figure out the order of a set of known variables. The key to sequence questions is to keep
track of what isn’t known as well as what you know for sure. Do not expect to get complete information about variables, and do not
be surprised if the answer is (E) or (K) (i.e., “Cannot be determined from the information given”).

EXAMPLE

Once you’ve read the question and identified that you must determine who the fourth of five runners is, you can beginning making
deductions. Always sketch your deductions on Sequence questions.

First, you can look at each statement individually.

1. Five runners cross the finish line of a race one after the other.

2 ) Michael finishes behind Paul but ahead of Rachel.
3 ) Paul finishes behind Sue.

3. Who crosses the finish line fourth?
