is a relatively new area of psychology that grew out of the belief that too much of psychology
focused on the negative aspects of the human condition (e.g., depression, prejudice, aggression).
Psychometrics is the study of how to make tests. Human factors psychology melds psychology
and engineering in an effort to make machines that are user-friendly. Social psychology is the study
of how people interact with one another, and health psychology is an area that looks at how
psychological factors impact physical health.
