    disorder. L-Dopa is used to treat Parkinson’s disease and would likely have an adverse effect on
    Vance since it would lead to an increase in dopamine and an excess of dopamine is a hypothesized
    cause of schizophrenia. Benzodiazepines are commonly used to treat anxiety. SSRIs (serotonin
    selective reuptake inhibitors) are used to treat major depressive disorder, and lithium is used to
    treat the manic phase of bipolar disorder.
