- In today’s read-aloud you heard, “Robbers often showed up to
steal any valuable objects.” - Say the word valuable with me three times.
- Something that is valuable is precious or worth a lot of money.
- Pharaohs placed valuable items in their tombs.
- Tell your partner about something that is valuable to you or
your family. [Ask two or three students. If necessary, guide
and/or rephrase the students’ responses: “ is valuable
to me.”] - What’s the word we have been talking about?
- Use a Drawing and Writing activity for follow-up. Directions:
Draw a picture of something that is valuable to you. Then
write a sentence about it. [After students have fi nished their
drawing and sentence, have them share their drawings and
sentences in small groups.]
