Venn Diagram: Comparing Geology and Paleontology

- Show students the Venn diagram and explain that, as a class,
you will use it to compare and contrast the work of a geologist
and a paleontologist. Remind students that to compare is to tell
how things are similar and to contrast is to tell how things are
different. - Ask students: “How is the work of a geologist and a
paleontologist the same?” Write student responses where the
two circles intersect. Possible responses include the following:- Both are scientists.
