What Do We Know? chart paper to make a Know-
Wonder-Learn (KWL) Chart


You may wish to create a KWL Chart for
the forest habitat. Ask students what they
know and wonder about the forest. At the
end of the lesson or on the following day,
have students share what they learned
about the forest.

Where Are We? Image Card 12 (Deciduous Forest),
yarn, world map


You may wish to connect Image Card
12 to a deciduous forest area on a world
map (e.g., the Great Smoky Mountains
between Tennessee and North Carolina).
