Purpose for Listening
Remind students that they will hear an Indian folktale called, “The Tiger,
the Brahman, and the Jackal.” It is a trickster tale. Have students predict
who they think will be the trickster in this tale. Ask students whether they
think the tiger will devour the Brahman.
