Early Chinese Civilization Image Card and Chart Review
Materials: Image Cards 5, 8–10; Early Asian Civilizations Chart
In your hand, hold Image Cards 5 and 8–10 fanned out like a deck of
cards. Ask a student to choose a card but not show it to anyone else in
the class. The student must then perform an action or give a clue about
the picture s/he is holding. For example, for calligraphy, a student may
pretend to write flowing Chinese script on a piece of paper. The rest of
the class will guess what component of a civilization is being described.
Have the student who provides the correct answer place the Image Card
back on the chart in the appropriate space. Proceed to another card in
the same fashion until the chart is filled out again.
Note: Remember to place Image Card 5 (the Buddha) under “Religions”
between both early India and early China on the chart, because
Buddhism was practiced in both areas.
