Introducing “The Lion and the Mouse”

- Say to students, “Tell your partner what you see in this picture.
What do you think the lion is thinking?” Call on two partner pairs to
describe. - Tell students that the first fable they are going to hear is called “The
Lion and the Mouse.” There are two characters in this fable—a lion
and a mouse. In this fable the lion has a problem and in the end, the
lion learns a lesson—the moral of the fable.
