It’s raining, it’s pouring,

The old man is snoring.

He bumped his head

When he went to bed,

And couldn’t get up in the morning.

Second Read with Motions

It’s raining, it’s pouring,

[Say to students, “Pouring means raining very hard.” Move fingers like raindrops

coming down.]

The old man is snoring.

[Say to students, “Snoring is a noise made while sleeping.” Pretend to snore

and make a snoring noise.]

He bumped his head

[Gently hit forehead.]

When he went to bed,

[Mime sleeping.]

And couldn’t get up in the morning.

[Continue to mime sleeping.]
