Advance Preparation
Prepare a copy of Instructional Master 1A-1 for each student. Refer to
it as Response Card 1 (Chicken Little). Students can use this Response
Card for discussion, for review, and to answer questions.
For Domain Introduction, bring in several children’s story books,
especially stories you know students are interested in and stories from
your students’ home cultures. You may wish to have students bring in
their favorite storybook as well. Display these stories in the classroom
throughout this domain. These stories can be read during Domain-
Related Trade Book extensions, Pausing Point, and Culminating
Activities.
Note to Teacher
The stories in this domain are fiction. Throughout this domain there are
many opportunities to invite students to distinguish between what is
make-believe or fantasy and what is real or true in the stories.
