NEWSFLASH
D
ays after sparking
speculation that their
relationship was in
trouble, Marnie Simpson
has signalled that her romance
with Casey Johnson is still on.
The couple, who only got
engaged in August last year after
three years of dating, shocked
fans when they unfollowed each
other on Instagram last week.
And Marnie, 28, further
fuelled talk of a rift when she
shared a cryptic post about “new
beginnings” and hinted she was
moving into a new house with
their 15-month-old son, Rox –
adding emojis of just two people.
The former Geordie Shore star
then went on Instagram Stories to
say she’s going through a “tough
time”. She added, “What I’ve
realised over this past year is that
no one will ever know what goes
on behind closed doors.
“I know that from experience,
from personal experience. No
one knows details, no one
knows scenarios, no one knows
situations, no one knows what’s
going on in someone’s head,
in someone’s mind.”
However, just a day later,
Marnie appeared to confirm
things were back on track with
Casey, 25, when she shared
a snap of them hugging.
Alongside it, she wrote,
“Never let the sadness of your
troubles and the fear of your
future ruin what you have! Be
strong, fight your battles no
matter how hard they are and
if you push your loved ones away
in despair, the ones who truly love
you will always choose to stay.”
And seemingly proving that
all was well, she admitted she
and Casey were about to view
their first house together.
“It’s really exciting because I’d
already bought this house before I
met Casey, so this is going to be
really special because we’re
going to be buying together,” she
explained. Casey
previously admitted
starting their family
had been tough on
their relationship.
Revealing the first
hints of troubles, he told
new last month, “At first,
I found it so difficult. The
first four months were really
hard. It was mad, as Rox didn’t
sleep and I thought I would
never get my life back.”
And asked if he would like to
expand their brood he seemed
uncertain, saying, “Having a baby
is hard and it changes your life
forever. You will never get a lie-in,
even though Rox does sleep
now. If Marnie wanted more kids,
I would. Maybe we should wait
when Rox is older.”
On top of the challenges
of parenthood, Marnie has
struggled with her chronic
bladder condition since giving
birth. She said the pain was like
having glass in the organ, adding,
“I couldn’t move, it was so bad.”
But she said Casey had been
one of her biggest supports,
admitting, “I already knew that
[he was The One] but this has
been the biggest test ever. He’s
shown me that he loves me
unconditionally.”
The couple, who met on MTV
dating show Single AF, split
briefly in October 2018. Opening
up about their break-up, Marnie
told new in 2019, “There was no
real reason. You know when you
get to that point in a relationship
where you’re like, ‘What do I
want?’ It was just one of them
where we decided it’s either
going to be all or nothing.”
She continued, “We had to
decide whether we were in it
forever or if we go our separate
ways and we decided that we
loved each other.”
Marnie has made no secret of
her troubled past and how it has
affected her. While appearing
on Channel 5’s In Therapy, she
revealed she felt suicidal aged 17
after her mum left her to live with
her boyfriend in Los Angeles.
“I literally used to want to kill
myself. That’s how depressed
I was. I just didn’t even want to
be alive,” she said. “A lot of the
insecurities and stuff, and the
way I am, does go back to that.”
We hope everything is back
on for good now, guys!
