If you’re on the lookout for

a white wine that’s dry and

unoaked but with extra

richness and texture, take

a look at wines made from

southern Italy’s fiano

grape. An ancient variety, it

nearly died out in the 20th

century but thankfully has

been revived and is now

grown widely in Campania,

Basilicata and on sunny

Sicily. It’s a little like

viognier, with a rounded

texture and a juicy fruit

cocktail of flavours.
