Tom,

Q The tires on my 2005 Chevy pickup have been replaced and the wheels

aligned; however, at 60 miles per hour the steering wheel starts to shake.
What’s wrong?

Walt,

A Take the truck back to the shop that replaced the tires and have them re-

check the calibration of the wheel balancer and your tires for proper balance.
They probably got it wrong when they balanced the new tires. This is
common as wheel balancers should be recalibrated for every new set of tires
and wheels. Imbalanced tires cause shaking. If the tires are okay, then check
the steering linkage and suspension for worn parts.
