The fan for the cooling system is located in front of the radiator to draw fresh cool air over the face of the
radiator core and thus cool the water and coolant mix within. Cooling fans are either driven by an electric
motor or mechanically driven by a pulley connected to the crankshaft of the engine. A shroud to direct the air
to the fan is used; this creates a venturi (rushing of air) action maximizing fan operation.
