Some car washes use recycled water. Stay away from these establishments. The salt from however many
umpteen vehicles is in that water being pumped onto your car. Ask if the car wash uses fresh or recycled
water. If recycled, find another car wash. Period. You pay enough for that vehicle; don’t let the car wash help
deteriorate it. Shutterstock
Cleaning wheels: Don’t use Brillo-style pads on wheels or hubcaps. These
are designed to remove baked-on food from pots and pans, not to clean the
delicate finish on wheels and hubcaps. Some aluminum or magnesium custom
wheels have a clear-coat finish. An abrasive cleaner will strip away the finish.
Use a non-caustic cleaner with a soft brush or sponge.
