Construction is a mobile trade,
often taking place in less-than-
ideal circumstances, open
and exposed to the vagaries of
weather or indoors in crowded
places. What’s more, it requires
bringing along (and keeping
organized) specialized tools.
All that can kill productivity.
Luckily, we have this series of
high-impact plastic boxes. The
foundation is a rolling toolbox
with a telescoping handle. Onto
that stack other boxes, each of
which snaps to the one below.
We tested the system by pack-
ing it full of tools, batteries and
chargers, bits and blades, and
containers of fasteners. Then
we rolled it up and down stairs
and ramps and outside over
curbs, roots, gravel, dirt, and
grass. We took the boxes apart
and slammed them together.

Built from low-density polyethylene
film with an extremely aggressive
adhesive, this tape is tough stuff
that lives up to its waterproof
billing. We tested it under water,
sticking it to the side of a kiddie pool
to stem a leak. But we would think
there are many other good uses for
it, such as field repairs to damaged
tents, tarps, and awnings, perhaps
even a fix to a gouged aluminum
canoe body or a vermin-chewed hole
in a pet food container. The weather
can’t stop T-Rex tape from making a

DeWalt’s 20-volt task light has a
tough plastic housing and a thick
lens to withstand plenty of abuse.
And you won’t believe how bright
this thing is. Its 2,000 lumens
means the DCL077 can light an
