Pelé
Soccer has never known another star to match
Pelé. A member of Brazil’s national team from
age 17, he played as though the ball answered his
every thought while leading Brazil to three World
Cups across a tumultuous period in the nation’s
history. In this powerful documentary, the
80-year-old legend revisits his career, addressing
difficult questions about whether he should have
done more to resist the rise of a brutal Brazilian
dictatorship. Available for streaming Tuesday,
Feb. 23, Netflix

where he was raised. He and wife Lois Lane,
played again by Elizabeth Tulloch, are seeking a
more stable family life while their children are still
teenagers. And they still don’t know that Dad’s a
superhero. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 8 p.m., the CW

Allen v. Farrow
Almost three decades after Woody Allen was
accused of sexually abusing his adopted 7-year-
old daughter, this four-part documentary series
argues that Allen, who denies the allegation, has
largely controlled the story that has nevertheless
clouded his career ever since. Filmmakers Amy
Ziering and Kirby Dick won interviews with
Allen’s then partner, Mia Farrow, and Farrow’s
daughter, Dylan, who has shared video clips
of herself at 7 describing the event. The series,
following a Feb. 21 debut, adds new episodes

To this day, Billie Holiday’s “Strange Fruit” can
stop any listener cold. In this new biopic from
director Lee Daniels, singer Andra Day chan-
nels Holiday to help tell the little-known story of
how the jazz legend was taken down by federal
narcotics agents because she wouldn’t stop
performing the haunting ballad about Southern
lynchings. A heroin habit made her vulnerable,
as did a romance with an uncover agent. Day’s
first screen turn has earned her a Golden Globe
