the execution agencies to mobilize the additional manpower
resources to achieve the targeted progress levels.
As per the original concept, M/s Holtec released the
clinker silo penthouse drawing in the RCC frame as per
standard industry practice. The construction team was
facing challenges with resources including manpower and
it was realized that staging erection from ground level to
+39.70 m would be a herculean task with available resources.
The construction of the large span RCC beams would also
take considerable resources and time. To overcome the
constraints of staging, manpower availability, and time,
the concept was changed from RCC to steel platform
for penthouse and the engineering design and drawings
were revised accordingly with the provision of RCC deck
slab. The changed arrangement helped in completing the
silo penthouse construction in a much shorter time and
contributed towards significantly in completing the project
and its commissioning in record time.
While conceiving Project Pride, it was decided to adopt
pre-engineered building (PEB) shed with roof-top solar
panels in place of conventional steel shed for stockpiles.
The enquiry for pre-engineered and shop fabricated shed
supply and erection as space frame arrangement was floated
in October 2018 and got all the final techno-commercial
offers in November 2018. The contract was awarded on 16
November 2018 to M/s Xuzhou. The engineering design
and drawings were reviewed and finalized with the supplier
across the table and released for fabrication on 6 December
with Holtec support. As a result, manufacturing could start
