Plant Commissioning
In July 2019, we were struggling to achieve more progress in
erection, cable tray fixing and cable laying, drive installation,
etc. One of the owners of main erection partner M/s
Ayoki was stationed at site for a long period along with
their senior management staff to expedite the mechanical
erection works. FLSmidth, electrical and instrumentation
installation partner, was gearing-up with their resources
for MRSS, switchyard and load centre charging. It was the
rainy season; sometimes we got a bit de-motivated when
we could not achieve the target due to heavy rain. Our
project head mentored us, motivating and energizing us to
overcome the new challenges.
In August 2019, it was even more difficult during the
second and third week due to heavy rain, huge waterlogging
at site, and we were unable to move any vehicle or crane
(two times that month). Temporary drains were unable to
evacuate the huge quantity of rainwater, all pits and store
yards were full of water, roads were flooded and many
welding machines were underwater. It was not possible
even to walk, as the fabrication yard was in a comparatively
lower region.
