tension, use needles of a larger or
smaller size accordingly.

When only one figure is given, it
applies for all sizes.

Basic pattern
Ribbed pattern in rows: Multiple of 4
sts + 2 selvage sts.
Row 1: selvage st, (k2, p2) to end of
row, selvage st.
Row 2: work sts as they appear.
Repeat row 1 and 2.

Ribbed pattern in rounds: Multiple
of 4.
k2, p2 to the end of rnd.

Stockinette stitch:
RS: knit all sts, WS: purl all sts.

Intarsia pattern: Work in stocki-
nette st according to the chart.
The chart shows the RS and WS
rows.
When working the decreases for the
sleeve cap, the number of sts must
be adjusted accordingly.

Back
Cast on 94 (102) 110 (118) 126 sts in
Linen and work in the border
pattern for 6 cm: In the first row,
after the selvage st, begin with k1,
then alternate p2, k2, end with p2,
alternate k1, selvage st. Continue
working in stockinette stitch.
When the piece measures 29 cm =
78 rows from the border, continue
working in stockinette st following
the chart; use a different ball of yarn
for each colour section. Be sure to
cross the threads of the contrasting
colours on the back of your work so

that no holes are formed. After you
have worked all the rows of the
chart, so that all st including the
selvage st are worked in Love,
continue working in stockinette st in
Love.
At the same time for the armhole
shaping, when the piece measures
36,5 cm = 98 rows from the border,
bind off at each edge 2 (3) 4 (4) 5
sts once, then 2 (2) 2 (3) 3 sts every
other row once, then 2 st at each
edge once and 1 st at each edge
twice = 78 (84) 90 (96) 102 sts.
Continue working straight in
stockinette st.
When the armholes measure 21,5
(22,5) 23,5 (24,5) 25,5 cm = 58 (60)
64 (66) 68 rows, begin shoulder
shaping. At each edge, bind off 7 (7)
7 (9) 9 sts once, then every other
row 6 (7) 8 (8) 9 sts twice.
At the same time, when the
armholes measure 21,5 (22,5) 23,5
(24,5) 25,5 cm = 58 (60) 62 (64) 66
rows, bind off the center 26 (28) 30
(32) 34 sts for the neck opening and
continue working the two sides
separately.
For the neck shaping, bind off at
each neck edge every other row 4
sts once and 3 sts once. Total
length = 66 (67) 68 (69) 70 cm.

Front
Work the front the same as the
back, but with a deeper neck
opening.
When the armholes measure 19 (20)
21 (22) 23 cm = 52 (54) 56 (58) 60
rows, bind off the center 16 (18) 20
(22) 24 sts for the neck opening and
finish working the two sides
separately. For the neck shaping,
bind off at each neck edge every
other row 3 sts twice, 2 sts twice
and 1 st twice.
When the armholes measure 21,5
(22,5) 23,5 (24,5) 25,5 cm = 58 (60)
62 (64) 66 rows, work the shoulder
shaping as described for the back.

Sleeves
Cast on 46 (46) 50 (54) 54 sts in
Linen and work in the border (cuff)
pattern for 6 cm:
In the first row, after the selvage st,
begin with k1, then alternate p2, k2,

end with p2, alternate k1, selvage st.
Continue working in stockinette
stitch.
For the sleeve shaping, after the
cuff, begin increasing: 1 st every
10th row 5x, then every 8th row 7x
(1 st every 8th row 9x, then every
6th row 6x) 1 st every 8th row 6x,
then every 6th row 10x (1 st in every
8th row 3x, then every 6th row 14x)
1 st every 6th row 15x, then every
4th row 5x = 70 (76) 82 (88) 94 sts.
When the piece measures 42,5 (43)
43,5 (44) 44 cm = 116 (117) 118 (120)
120 rows from the cuff, first work 33
(34) 34 (35) 35 rows in Marine, then
continue working in Love.
At the same time, when the piece
measures 42 cm = 114 rows, shape
the sleeve cap: bind off 2 (3) 4 (4) 5
sts each edge once, then every
other row, 2 sts twice, then 1 st 14x
(16x) 17x (18x) 19x, 2 sts 3x, then
bind off the remaining 18 (18) 20 (24)
26 sts. Total length = 63 (64) 65 (66)
67 cm.

Work the 2nd sleeve in the same
way.

Finishing
Sew the shoulder seams, then set in
the sleeves. Sew the sleeve and
side seams.
Work the collar: Using the circular
needle and Love, pick up 96 (100)
104 (108) 112 sts from the neck
edge and join to work in the round.
Work in rounds in the border
pattern, beginning with k2. When
the collar measures approx. 3 cm,
bind off all sts. Weave in all ends.
