hadtolowerthegraphicssettings
in demandinggamesin ordertoget

situationhasimproved.
Macgameswithnativecodefor
Applesiliconaren’tavailableyet(unless
youincludeiPhoneandiPads).But
wewerecurioustoseewhatkindof
performancewewouldgetwitha couple
ofMacgamesthatusecodewritten
forIntelprocessors.WeranRiseofthe
TombRaider and Civilization VI, and
came away impressed. With either low
or high quality settings, the MacBook
Pro (M1) drastically improves upon the
Apple apps such as iMovie are optimized for Apple silicon, and you’ll
notice a big difference in speed compared to the Intel versions.
