Non-Stop
FACE S!

When you

m
y sister asked me to help her make new drapes
for her windows. We overestimated the amount
of fabric needed, so there was quite a lot left over. I had
recently purchased a longarm quilting machine and was
spending time practicing to get comfortable using the
machine with and without the stitch regulation mode.
Deciding to work with my new bounty, I stitched a grid of
small rectangles, about 6" x 9" each.
I took a deep breath, set the machine to non-stitch regulated (meaning, you
need to keep moving, because if you pause, the machine will stitch in place and
the thread will surely break), and I started making faces. I ‘drew’ a face into the
fi rst rectangle, not pausing or cutting thread; I just moved from one feature to
the next, stitched over to the next space, and made another face.
