“Obscured Meaning”
35" x 35" • STEPHANIE SHORE • LEXINGTON, MASSACHUSETTS
“So many layers of disinformation can sometimes cover the facts that the truth is hard to see. In this piece, discarded posters from a scientific
conference were painted over to protect the identity of the investigators and the privacy of the data. Then the posters were stenciled with gesso,
and painted with chalk pastels and matte medium. Though the meaning is obscured, here and there the data peeks out.”
