orning! What are you up to?
m a bit of a slow starter so, during the week,
ead to the gym or pool without breakfast.
o breakfast! Please say you have a cuppa?
end to munch when I get to my co-working
ace. Then it’s my first cuppa – usually hot
ater with a slice of orange if that counts?
e’ll let it pass. What does your work involve?
m the founder and designer of The Level
llective, an ethical outdoor brand – so I
sign backpacks, clothing and accessories.
y favourite part is the design process,
llaborating with artists and makers to bring
y ideas to life. I enjoy working through the
allenges and arriving at products that people
n connect with, use and enjoy.
unds great, albeit busy. Fancy a cuppa?
go for Yorkshire Rhubarb tea by fellow
effield company Birdhouse Tea, ta.And any snacks with that?
I sandwich two oatcakes with crunchy peanut
butter and chocolate praline spread. I’m a
reformed dunker. I’ve come to realise that the
short-term gains of soft, soggy biscuit and melted
chocolate (where applicable) greatly sour the
remainder of the tea.
Noted. Do you work differently in the
afternoon to the morning?
I tend to have meetings in the mornings because
I’m fresher then. Afternoons are usually design
time with my sketchbook or laptop – or getting
my hands dirty with a bit of lino cutting.
How do you clear your head?
I have a travel mug, so I’ll go for a bit of a wander
outside and get a bit of fresh(ish) steel city air.
Time for one last cuppa. What do you fancy?
In the evening, I’ll sometimes have a loose-leaf
peppermint tea or hot water with a slice of ginger.WE ASKED DESIGNER MARK MUSGRAVE TO
