Note
It can be tricky to drag the end of a direction line. If you wind up missing and
deselecting the path, with the modifier key still held down, click the path and then click
the anchor point to see the direction handles and try again.
- Move the pointer over the path to the right of the anchor point that was labeled “A.” When a
plus sign (+) appears to the right of the Pen tool pointer ( ), click to add an anchor point.
Converting between smooth points and corner points
To more precisely control the path you create, you can convert points from smooth points to
corner points and from corner points to smooth points, using several methods.
- Select the Direct Selection tool ( ). With the last point still selected, Shift-click the anchor
point to the left (formerly labeled “A”) to select both.
